The silk weaving traditions of Lyons in France have been a strong influence on my work. The invention of the Jacquard revolutionised the industry and fascinating promotional woven portraits were developed to showcase the possibilities of the new technology. Along with one of my all time heroes, Bruno Munari, they inspired me to develop a series of my own playful ‘portraits' and abstract works.
